PT Power Telecom, perusahaan penyedia jasa layanan telepon berbasis internet protocol (VOIP), jasa layanan akses internet (ISP), layanan solusi bisnis seperti Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) dan kelak bakal menyediakan jaringan berbasis serat optik di Jawa dan Kalimantan, dijadwalkan bakal melantai di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada 18 September 2008.

Dalam keterangannya pada 11 Agustus lalu, perseroan menawarkan sebanyak-banyaknya 2.000.000.000 Saham Biasa Atas Nama dengan nilai nominal Rp 100 per saham, yang ditawarkan dengan indikasi Harga Penawaran sebesar Rp 250 – Rp 350 per saham.

Dana hasil emisi, sebesar 59% rencananya akan akan digunakan untuk investasi infrastruktur jaringan telekomunikasi berbasis serat optik dan fasilitas penunjang. Berikutnya sebesar sekitar 32% akan digunakan untuk tambahan modal kerja dan kebutuhan umum, dan sisanya sekitar 9% untuk pembelian kembali obligasi konversi yang diterbitkan perseroan. Ream more »

Lessons from the up and down elevator

Three things happened to me in an elevator going up to the 10th floor in a building where I was a partner in a $120m venture capital fund, 212 Ventures, from 2000-2001. We opened our doors on March 16 2000, coincidentally the day the Nasdaq reached its highest point.

The first was riding the elevator with David Bowie. I wasn’t paying attention until I heard his voice. It sounded how velvet would sound like if it spoke. He was talking to Iman, his wife. I have no idea why they were in the building since it was a pretty scruffy one on Broadway near Houston, but I think there might’ve been a recording studio on one of the floors. Ream more »
